This multifaceted Valencian musician presents his work as a flamenco singer and jazz guitarist and in other projects in which he brings both styles together.

Flamenco singer
A self-taught flamenco singer, Carlos Denia learnt by singing for dancers, and by listening to the great masters: Tomás Pavón, Manolo Caracol, ‘La niña de los peines’, Manuel Torre...

He has completed tours in China, Vietnam, Turkey, The Netherlands and Spain. He works together with the groups La Primavera, Luna en Alta Mar, Labryenco, Silvia de Paz y Grupo Sentío Flamenco, NL Mundo. He also gives singing recitals together with guitarist Arturo Ramón.

Other projects include: the International Dance Theatre in Amsterdam, Mónica Triga y Grupo, Orquesta Sinfónica Pablo Sarasate de Pamplona, Coro de la Generalitat Valenciana, Amsterdam Percussion Group, Limburgs Symfonie Orkest. Carlos Denia has taken part in the operas Mon de Guerres, Carmen y La Vida Breve.

Another facet of flamenco singing which he focuses on is the ‘cant valencia d’estil’.

Jazz guitarist
Graduated in music studies (with distinction) in the jazz guitar department from the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague (The Netherlands).

European tours(The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Danmark, Portugal, Slovenia, Germany and Spain) with different music groups. He has shared the stage with various musicians such as Uli Glaszmann, Michael Erian, Jeff Galindo, Jacob Frandsen, Mario Rossy, Steve Altenberg, Philip Harper, Marc Miralta, Cristiana Olafsdottir, Carlos Gonzalbez, David Pastor, amongst others.

He gives classes and seminars, and on various occasions has been a guest lecturer at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague.
